Having celebrated the pagan New Year in October (Samhain) it’s time to refocus on setting new intentions and shedding what no longer serves you. It has a little bit of a different feel than just “putting it off” until January 1st, doesn’t it? So, I ask you, what are you hoping to change in this new pagan year? My challenge to you is to take up something new to you, or something you’ve been meaning to really do more of, and consistently make time for it.
For example, want to learn about using tarot cards? Now is the perfect time to start learning! You can learn about the major arcana, starting with The Fool- the card of new beginnings, innocence, and new adventures. How fitting, as we’re all “The Fool” card in the new year as our cycles continue! Or, say you’ve been wanting to write more- did you know that November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)? Aspiring writers all across the world participate in the challenge to pump out an entire novel (50,000 words) every day over the course of the month (then editing once the challenge is over). Want to read more? Start with even just a page a day!
Maybe it’s time you dedicate this new pagan year to bettering yourself in some way. Don’t be afraid to reach out beyond your comfort zone and try new things! Once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, there will be even MORE opportunities to try new and different things. Give yourself the time you deserve. What are you going to take on this year?
Stay busy!
